Jesse,
Pretty much any digital providing 2 megapixels or better (optical) is going to do a fine job for any pictures less than 8x10 in size. What you want to be careful of is the cameras that boast big megapixel numbers, but do it through interpolating the pixels in software (i.e., non-optical). What are the specs on the HP you picked up? -Bill |
Ummmmm?
Sensor: 2.1MP Res.: good 0.3MP better 2.0MP (1632 x 1232) best (same)? I don't know, nothing about interloping thoe:confused: I havn't loaded any onto the computer yet but I took some pictures with it this weekend. |
Jesse,
try this once you get the camera hooked up to your computer... 1. Take a picture of the same subject (say, your SVX) with the camera at each of its settings 2. Download the three pics to your computer 3. View each picture without changing anything 4. Now, view each picture at 2x their downloaded size. If you see a significant change in how sharp any of the pictures are, those that are "less sharp" are probably "interpolated" pictures, as the individual pixels have been "tweeked" through software. My guess is that you'll be fine up to 3x5 or 5x7 size pictures. -Bill |
Sounds like a good camera for the price. I would get a larger memory card first off. I take all photos with my camera at highest quality then resize/crop them to what I want on the computer later.

I'm waiting to get a digital camera for myself until I can afford a Canon SLR. I have lenses and I don't want to give up the control over the exposure.
A friend of mine was taking pictures of the autocross this weekend with his new Leica digital. Sweet. Oh, I lied - I actually do have a digital camera. I just got a new phone and it has a 1.3 megapixel camera in it. :p |
