Security System Problems
 

Who else has random problems with their security system. Mine will work perfectly and then if i don't go into the car for a day i will go out to it, hit the remote, then one beep like it is setting the alarm, when i know i did it last time.. It's so confusing. Sometimes it beeps the horn once long and loud. Just wondering who else is in the same boat.

The previous owner (I bought it in May 04) had all 4 tires and wheels stolen - security system did no good.

He installed a Clifford with a tilt sensor and all kinds of other neat stuff. I have had no problems with it. My Outback has had no problems with the factory system.

I have an aftermarket system which does all kinds of weird crap, and the alarm goes off nomatter what if you lock the door and then unlock it.
Course it goes off it you stick the key in and turn it.

where's the poll option for factory AND aftermarket? :D

my factory system works fine, but i have a Bulldog talking alarm in addition to it for extra security.

i have a "Club", but i don't use it on the steering wheel so much, as its mainly for smashing the skull of anyone who'd like to mess with wife/me/car. ;)

Ya I got a big problem with my security system. It's still at the store, and they wont let me have it unless I pay for it.

Haha, i'll just take that as a compliment.

I better go, its time to check on the attack hounds..

My alarm problem is that the horn sounds normal when used, or when the alarm is going off, but when I am activating/deactivating it is very very quiet. I have to watch the lights or listen for the lock to move.

Our cars came with a factory security system???

I've had problems with the aftermarket system installed by the previous owner. That came out with the 4EAT.
