Just wondering, How often you guys change your tranny fluid?

i think this would depend a lot on setup. variables include external filter or not (especially the full-flow spin-on aftermarket kind), synthetic fluid or regular dexron, and perhaps mostly, operating conditions (by that I mean lots of lengthy hot stop & go trips, vice cold hiway trips).

that said, I have a newly rebuilt unit (7K miles and counting) using Mobil 1 ATF. I expect to change fluid at 50K, but have been considering doing a simple drain and refill at 25K just to get some new fluid (really the new additives it brings with it) in the system.

Fluid? I thought you just changed trannies.
 

Personally, I change my transmissions more often than I need to change the fluid!
