Would you believe........

Hi all you SVXers out in SVXland,

We received an interesting call yesterday. I just want to reiterate to everyone that this site is being monitored by SOA/SIA. They are quite appreciative of our favorable comments about the planrt tour since the 10th Anniv. SVX Meet.

So just a reminder to have fun, be nice, and let's use "DA PROPA INLISH". :D
(PS: Speeling & punctuation,,,,,,, count)

I can just see Maxwell Smart at supper every night. His phone rings. He takes off his shoe an answers. Would you believe that it's a long distance company trying get him to switch to their latest calling plan. Welcome to the 21st century.

Larence,
Would you expand on the content of your conversation with SOA/SIA? You rather left us "hanging"....
Harry:confused:

I wonder if they looked in my locker and saw my picture with Mr. Nagano? I think we favor and could possibly be long lost relatives…. Uncle Masayoshi, can I have a Baja for Christmas? Just kidding,,,, :p

It is amazing for a CEO to spend the amount of time that he did with us Saturday night. He stayed the entire evening…. took the time to pose for every picture and sign every mug/T-shirt that was requested. I’m just sorry I had to leave and missed the SIA Plant tour on Monday.

Thank you again Mr. Nagano and SIA

Bill

Bill,

The pix that you should delete from your locker is the one of you with those two female types.
Where your hands are in that photo- inquiring minds want to know ?

PS: Suddenty, 673 SVXers try to crash into Bill's locker simultaneously.

I was impressed with the time that SIA/SOA VIPs (Mr. Nagano and all of the others) spent with us at the dinner and the tour lunch. It makes my SVX even more special to me when such special people are willing to take time out of their busy lives and show us that they care. My son and I were able to take home a keepsake (signed mug) that we will charish and will be part of our wonderful experience at the 10th Anniversary Meet. I am even more dedicated to Subaru that I was before. I am very impressed !! :) ;)

Harry,

I cannot expand on the phone conversation. It wasn't me that they spoke to. I am relating the info. second hand. The gist of it is that they seem happy with us and they are looking at us probably as potential customers. What they and SAAB (I used to own SAABS) don't realize is that a few fanatical owners are better than millions spent on advertising. 'Word of mouth' is the best advertising. Someday the marketing guys in most companies will wise up, but not if the ad agencies keep wining & dining them.

While I am a very satisfied Suby owner (and SVX fanatic), and while I think I am fortunate enough to be located near one of the best dealers in the country (Earl Duff Subaru), if someone has a bad experience, gets shafted by a dealer, etc., SOA needs to hear that too. It may be more important than the kudos, particularly if it's coming from more than one source, and isn't falling into the category of libel or slander.

LarryIII 08-02-2002 03:22 PM

Bill,

I agree. If some dealership messes something up and wont fix it there are zone reps, Better Business Bureaus, state attoney generals, state consumer affairs groups, etc. I don't care if it's a Subaru, Chevy, or Mercedes Benz dealer. I have a Subaru dealership 15 min. from my house (Concorville Nissan Subaru). He screwed up 3 different subies that I brought there for service (96 Outback, 97 OB & 97 SVX). That's why I drive 45 min. to a dealership where I trust the service dept (Rafferty Subaru). I tell every local subie owner that I meet that Concordville's sevice dept. stinks and Rafferty's is great (word of mouth advertising).
They couldn't pay me enough to take my cars back to Concordville for service. They were also slightly higher than Rafferty when I started pricing 2002 VDC Outback wagons.

I agree Larry

I don't know if you saw the sticker in my back window, but my dealership, Hodges Subaru in Ferndale, MI has a 100,000 mile club and a 200,000 mile club. These both entitle the bearers to parts and service discounts. The people are great and I gladly drive 45 minutes to them versus the 15 minute drive to Suburban Subaru due to prior bad experiences.

Thanks, Larry. And I completely agree with you and the others that posted here. Satisfied customers are, in deed, the best advertisement any manufacturer could ever have. And the reverse is true too. One dissatisfied customer customer will counter many dollars spent attempting to say otherwise. It has always amazed me that so many businesses just don't appreciate that basic fact.

Personally, I believe Mr. Nagano appreciates the above. By treating us so well, SOA now has about 90 ambassadors of good will with very good words of Subaru - not just the car, but the people. And buying anything, one deals with people. And regardless of the price, most will buy where they are respected and treated well.
My thanks to Mr. Nagano and SIA / SOA!
Harry

Mr. Nagano's email address

Anyone know if it is possible or even feasible to get Mr. Nagano's email address. Perhaps not his personal address but one that will get a note to his Secretary or his office. I would like to send him a personal note of thanks for his overall gracious hospitality and most specifically his patience signing all those momentos Saturday night. You bet, after all that plus the Monday plant tour (which I unfortunately couldn't attend) Subaru has at least another 90 plus walking and driving good will ambassadors.

Emailing Mr Nagano

Larry,

Has anyone considered sending SIA/SOA, or Mr Nagano an official "Thank you" letter with the new SVX site Logo? Names of the attendees from the Lafayette meet as well as any other members who would like to be identified could be placed on the letter. It may sound silly, but it just might be a keepsake that he, and the companies, would appreciate. Just a thought.

Scott,

Rosie & I sent a letter to SIA through Chia. In the letter, we thanked everyone at SIA , especially Mr. Nagano.

We also sent a thank you letter to Patrick Circle at the Homewood Suites & Hampton Inn.

Neither letter had any letterhead.

Both letters were typed in Word Perfect ver. 7.0 for Windows, so I don't think that I can post them here. I will try to convert them to MS Word then I will try to put them in my locker.
