Site idea...
I know I have been distributing the SVX club cards to non-registered owners through this website mainly in my hometown. If I would find one of these card on my windshield and went to this site I would be quite confused as to what I would do as far a registering here or using the website itself. Why not have a quick link on the main page linking the individual to a section on what to do? For example, have a simple icon on the main page that any newby SVR'er would click on labeled "I got one of club Card on my Windshield, What does this mean?"...(Something of that nature..). Remember were dealing with outsiders who might be wary of joining or registering...So what does everyone else think?

I offered to redesign the site. I think chris is busy for now. ;)

Maybe its just me, but thats what the FAQ is for.
perhaps just a pointer to the FAQ, that may be just enough. |
In the Northwest area, Troy did a homepage for just that reason. That way someone could find out more about these strange people, and then follow the link to the forum. It would give them some idea of who we are and what we can offer someone as help.
If you haven't seen the site, here is the link to it. It also links someone to the dot org site as well where the cars are registered. http://www.geocities.com/troybillett/NorthwestSVX.html |

Good job on that site! Maybe I should start something like this here in the Colorado areas

It'd probably be a good idea to rethink our "front page" at some point. Right now, notice that the text does point them to the forums. I also get a number of emails on the administrator account (people using the "contact" link from the main page) and I direct them to the forums. The email you get when you sign up to the forum also provides a number of pointers to things like the FAQ and such...
Anywho, a new front door would probably be nice. -Colin |
I think it's a really good idea.
