i wanna know something
 

can anyone tell me the approx. cost of the cross drilled rotors? and what advantages do they have and if i did get them could i have the dealer put them on for me or would they not do that. also, i think i need them because i constantly get that annoying noise coming from them , they are warped i think, i got them machined not long ago so i dont really know why the noise is still there. the last time they forgot to put a spacer back in my caliper and when they fixed that it was fine for a few weeks, but the noise is back. any suggestions? sorry for the long post

You have options:
1. cross drilled rotors, better braking, rotors tend to crack
2. grooved/slotted rotors, better braking, less tendancy to warp/crack.
3. cross drilled & grooved/slotted, better braking, tend to warp/crack

The dealer won't put them on because they aren't a factory certified part, sold from suby. Just call up your local brake place and have them do it.

What kind of noise are you hearing? A squeel? Warped rotor's generally don't give any noise off. They will just give a pulsing feeling to your pedal/steering wheel. If they get real bad (like my old set) it will shake the wheel back and forth when you brake. However you shouldn't hear any noise from them at all. Sounds like just noisy pads to me. If its a scraping noise (not high pitched), it might be that you have a rock or a piece of broken pad stuck between your rotor and your pad. It could be grinding a nice big ring into your rotor and making the noise. Best bet is just to take it in and have them figure out what is wrong. A decent place (seeing as you just did it) will warranty their work and fix the problem.

Also don't be afraid to just put them on yourself. It's not tough, and will save you a few bucks. I wrote up a howto on this here:

well i dont feel as though i should mess with my own car by myself...lol i dont know much about the mechanical aspect. but the noise that my car makes when i slow down is sometimes a loud squeak, but also sometimes it sounds like this...: wha, wha, wha, wha,...finally stopping..........creeeeeaaaaak. the noise seems to follow the rotation of the wheels, slowing down as they slow down. any suggestions?

Yeah I would think you have something stuck in your pad. Take them off and check them for anything in there that shouldn't be. You might have a slight warp, which would make the sound on, sound off, effect you are saying, but I doubt it's enough to be a problem for you.
