Headlight Coating
I've noticed through the years that the headlight glass as well as the piece in between has become a bit yellowed and obscures the the effectiveness of the headlights. Anyone have the same issue? Aside from buying new light assemblies, what else do you recommend?

This is a common problem. Many of us have our favorite "tonic" for this particular ailment. Personally, I use Novus products, available at JC Whitney http://jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs/stor...Group&ss=10101 They work like a charm. You'll be amazed at the results. If you do a search on "headlight cleaning" you'll find various recommendations. |
Noticed you were from Stevenson Ranch. My girlfriends dad lives there and I will be traveling out to visit over xmas.
Yellowing is common. I have the same thing, but I have yet to clean them. There are several different products that will do a good job. If cleaner doesn't work you can even separate and clean inside the housing. |

Thanks guys. I think I'll give the polish/cleaner a try from the recommended website. Thanks again.

My '92 had nearly chalky yellow lenses, no cleaning was going to clear then up.
I replaced the light housing lenses with clear ones from an outfit in Tacoma, WA. You cut off the old one and the new clear ones slip on and are RTV'd in place. They look great if you're careful and much more modern style in appearance. The light at night is 10 times better, too! Site is called smallcar.com. See attachment. Rob |
