What the heck is this thing?

This I found inside the drivers door. I cant seem to find it in any parts diagrams. Any idea what it is? Could it be the 'stealth mode' box?? :D Maybe it's the thing that adds the extra 30hp in Power Mode.

Here it is disconnected.
I jumped the terminals, and i can tell that it has nothing to do with the power windows, locks, or any sort of lighting through elimintaion testing. |
I think that's the secretly hidden "Where did my girlfriend go with my car?" transponder. :D
Actually, after seeing what is apparently growing around it, I'm wondering if you really want to be handling it with your bare hands. heheheheh |
I'd watch a couple of movies about bombs before you cut any of the wires..."Let's see should you cut the red wire, or...." :D
A total WAG: it's a connector for the JDM power mirrors. |

What year is it from?

OK, then how about the connector for the auto-seatbelts that were no longer used by the 95 model year?
Edit: That's a dumb guess the seatbelt mechanism isn't in the door - can't figure out how to delete the dumb things I say - stupid fingers type faster than my brain thinks |
I thought they lead to the lights at the door. Looks like it though.

It has the shape of a speaker connection. Maybe it's it's the hidden microphone in the Subaru 'Secert Shopper" car. :D Installed to get first hand comments back to Subaru.

Hi Mike, How about a crossover between the OEM door speaker and the in dash tweeter. Take care, BOBB

uhhhhh
alarm sensor? for your aftermarket alarm? which could be why it's not on the diagrams? |

I think that's just the noise reducing foam they wrap around every connector in the door. As for what that connector does, perhaps they originally planned to have a power lock switch in the door?
