'The Australian' wants to do an article on the SVX!

I received this email today - and *begins a torrent of foul language that would put a dockworker to shame* I DON'T HAVE ONE!!! *composes himself....deep breath........*

:D

Hi James,

I hope you don't mind this form of introduction but I'm trying to track down
an owner of an SVX to do a report for the motoring section of The Australian
newspaper and happened to come across your SVX site on the net.

Basically we publish our Motoring section every Thursday and try to include
what we call an "Auto Affair" which is a small article and picture of
some
interesting automotive machinery. I thought the SVX would make an
interesting article, particularly as there were only about 250 sold here.

I contacted Subaru Australia recently - without success - to try and find
out if they knew of any SVX owners out there who'd be willing to talk to us.

If you, or anyone you know who owns an SVX would be interested in talking to
me then I'd certainly appreciate it.

I can be contacted by email:

or phone

Thanks,
Neil McDonald
Motoring Writer,
The Australian.

So fellow inhabitants of the land down under...any takers???

James

This is the reporters response:

James,
The nature of the "auto affairs" is to talk to owners (Q and A) about
what
motivated them to buy their cars, how long they'd had them and just a
general look at the history of the vehicles concerned. It all takes about 10
minutes by phone.
We usually have one of our photographers meet the owner and get a pic of
them with their car. The Q and A's are done over the phone.
We don't drive the cars... it's more of a look at the motivation behind
owning certain classic, modern or just plain unusual vehicles.
Let me know how you go.
Cheers Neil

Go for it, James. If they take the photo correctly, no one will be able to tell it's a cardboard cutout --- except for the fact that it's parked in your living room. :D

Jamsvx 08-11-2002 06:26 PM

That would be the yellow cutout that I made and take into traffic occassionally, steering wheel from a wrecked JDM SVX in hand and rear light panel plus battery tied around my neck.

"Whaddya mean do I have an SVX???? I AM AN SVX!!!"

:D
