At 60mph transmission jumps from 2000 to 2300 rpm.

Sorry for being new here and jumping in with a question but here it goes.

My transmission does a few weird things. At 60mph light throttle I can see the engine rpm jump from 2000 to 2300 with a little jerky motion in the car. A couple of other things the car does, sometimes when I am going about 45 with very little throttle the car studders until I gas it and it downshifts. Sometimes I also notice vibration at a stop in drive. This vibration goes away when if I shift into neutral.

I replaced the filter, fluid (mobil synthetic, but not a full flush) and diff fluid. Prior to replacing the diff fluid I noticed a little binding on tight turns in the parking lot but that seems better now..

Any ideas on what I need to do.

Thanks, Jason

This is your torque converter locking and unlocking. Not sure why it's doing it??

Mine was doing about the same thing acting oddly when the TPS was misadjusted. Yo may want to check that out. To get started look in the "How To" -> "engine" -> "TPS" at the top of the page.

A very good suggestion. The binding is likely to be a separate issue relating to the centre clutch, or control of same.

First check the TPS and observe the results. :)
