how much are all of you paying on your insurance... and how old are you

i got quoted 2900 appx for 500 deductable

i'm 20

Uncamitzi 03-24-2003 11:17 AM

900 per year full coverage with 500 deduct.. I'm 49... no (knocking on wooden head) tickets or bumps or bruises...

I'll be driving home very carefully tonight.....!

NomadTW 03-24-2003 11:25 AM

it it was 2 months later, my coverage would be 2400, but now i have to wait till next march to get my 21 y/o discount...

i can get it to 2400 by taking on a 1000 deductable

which i'm gonna do if the bank lets me

oh also what company are you going through

i got a quote from progressive for state farm, for only 2000 a year, w/ 500 deducvt and stuff, i'm gonna be looking into them and switching from erie if they can actually meet that number

as i understand the law of wisconsin to be.... that we don't need insurance to drive on the roads.... i'm driving without insurance.... until i can get the fleet/parking situation all figured out... and when all the cars are back... under my control.... i would like insurance soon... maybe when i figure out how much i'm getting paid for my summer job...

but i'm also only driving maybe 1, 2 days a week to get groceries.... otherwise i walk.... again, i don't recommend driving without insurance, i would get insurance for sure once i figure some stuff out....

You're wrong there. The only way you can drive without insurance is if you have enough 'finances' to cover potential losses... like, if you had 500,000 sitting around, you could drive without it. otherwise, you really really shouldn't.

Insurance? Who needs insurance? My brother drives without one. Just don't get in to any accidents. hehe.

As for me, Western United, 1500 per year (almost full coverage) 19, no tickets or accidents.

I think insurance varies from state to state, and who your insurance company is. Also depends on your age, driving record, and the city you live in. Plus the deductable you can live with.:)

I think i may be getting ripped off... I pay 280/month... approx. 3300/yr. for full coverage. I am 19(as of this thur.). Maybe I should start looking elsewhere, I currently have state farm.

I agree. I just had to double check my policy. I am paying SIGNIFICANTLY less than the amounts listed previously in this thread. I cant figure out why, but I'm not gonna go calling around and asking. :)

yeah, i know i shouldn't be driving without insurance.... i will get insurance once i get the svx back.... i mean, with two cars basically in the shops most of the time, my driving time is like 0 so i figured i should just wait until i drive the cars to get insurance... (i always get insurance when i rent a car)

if anyone knows of cheap insurance in wisconsin.... let me know!!

Right now New Jersey is having a insurance crisis. A few insurance companies are dropping out of car insurance business here. State Farm is just dropping all of their car insurance customers because they aren't making enough money. When I heard of this I was smart enough to find a new company before they just dropped everyone and now there is a 6 month waiting period to be accepted to others because of the high volume of applications they are recieving. Unfortunately State Farm wasn't able to send my information to other insurance companies when I was applying. I couldn't get an answer for why they didn't send my information. It resulted in a higher premium because I had to start out as if I never had insurance before. I'm now paying just over $4k a year on two cars. I'm turning 25 in May.

Score Box
State Farm = 14000
Kevin = -14000
($2800/yr X 5 yr)

£380 fully comprehensive with full extras. £100 excess. 42 yrs, no naughties

phoenix96 03-24-2003 05:06 PM

$1000 a year, $500 deductible. 17, no tickets, "good student" discount. (AAA)

this insurance thing is driving me nuts, it is holding back my getting the car, ack.
the bank wants insurance info to give me the money, the insurance company wants a lot of money to open the policy, and the dealership wants both to give me the car
