Not quite SVX related....YET

I'm working on an interesting project. I'm building a 1/25 replica of my SVX. Starting with a Ford Probe kit, stirring in a bit of WRX, and sprinkling a heavy seasoning of Bondo.

Using this recipe, I'm making a bit of progress. Here's a look at the beginnings of the work.

If this builds well, and there's sufficient interest I'll talk with a resin caster. If this goes into production expect a pricetag in the $75 range give or take $15. I'll package it as a transkit for the Revell WRX kit.

It is looking very good so far. The spoiler is a little wide, but the rest looks great. Keep us posted on your progress. :)

Hey look, EG33-ness!

Shhh! Don't tell anyone that the SVX wasn't available with a 6-spd DCCD trans!
Don't let the folks over on NASIOC know that I'm stuffing the Probe chassis under the Imp STI body ;)

Here's some more progress. It's looking quite SVXy now.

I'm going to have to cheat on the "A" pillars. I don't have a vacuformig machine to make a new windsield. I'll paint them gloss black so they look like glass.

And a quick shot of te interior. I need to touchup the paint in places.

Now, it's SVX related. It's just not as SVX rated as I'd have liked.

A few of the proportions are off, but it's the best I can do with my calipers, and calibrated eyeball.

I know TTIWWOP
so.......

Paul, I think it looks Great!
Especially considering what you had to work with.....

Let us know if you get a mold made for it, as I'd love to have one to paint like my Yellow one....

The rear spoiler doesn't look right.....I'd almost just leave it off, but the rest looks great:cool:

Re: Not quite SVX related....YET

The spoiler does sit flat now. I glued it with a soft glue so that it'd be easy to remove, if I get the opportunity to get this cast as a kit. I didn't want to pin it because of the different offsets people use on thier own cars. Most of the rest of the pieces are either pinned or tabbed for positive location.

Had I built it only for myself, I'd have just glued things together, surface to surface. As it sits though, it's engineered to be a fairly simple re-body/interior for the Revell WRX STI kit.
If I can get enough interest in this I'll have it done up by a company called Modelhaus. They are the #1 supplier of resin models and parts. To see thier website/online catalog look here www.modelhaus.com They do only top quality stuff.
