Who said 'only America can build a great V8'?

How much could I get for the wife & kids?

Real Ferraries have 12 pots

Andy,
A twin tubo Chevy V-8 ( used in a track/street car) puts out about 1100 hp. |

The T1 engine only puts out 500hp.
So this car only weighs .5 tonnes?? |

I would say that America makes the best V8s. However I wouldn't say that no one else can make a great 8-cylinder. I have to agree with Napa, what fun is a Ferrari without 12 cylinders? |

give me a Ferrari or BMW V8 over an American ANY day.... |

Not that there's really anything wrong with BMW. I like their styling, but I don't see the point in paying the ridiculous maintenance costs they require. Just the way I feel. You may want to take the BMW V8 over the Ferrari though...Ferrari is not exactly known for it's reliable motors. |
Seems like a wannabe Formula car to me.
I think it's a great package, but it's not the engine that makes it a great package. It's the light weight. They could have easily gotten the same power with a 4-banger or 6-cylinder. Screw the displacement. I want to know the dimensions and weight of the engine. What good is a 2.4L V8 if it takes up as much room and weighs just as much as a bigger displacement engine? And what kind of rubber will they be using to put all that power down in such a light car? It better be frickin wide. Like Pirelli's slogan, "Power is nothing without control." On the flip side, while the American turbo V8s can be built to 1600 hp (quite doable if you have the resources of Garrett behind you. ;) ), what's the use, if you can't grab for traction? I don't buy into that BS about "the high-tech import V8 whine" or "that good ol' American V8 growl". Sound is nice, but in the end, I'll take a bumble-fartcan sounding engine if it makes massive power in a small, lightweight package. |

With cornering and braking of 3g, the tyres seem up to the job too. |

supercharged 500bph@10,500rpm. x.x'' -I'd take the tiny v8 over the inline 4 any day though. I think at those rpms you'll want more cylinders to smooth out the ride. The design is screaming out to me, car of the future. I like it. I wish I had one. |
