Yet ANOTHER set of keys...

Yesterday I let my ebay impulses get the better of me and I won myself (what I hope to be) my new DD, provided I can sell my 07 SE (I hate payments...)

2000 Legacy Limited Wagon with a 5 speed!

The car does have a pile of miles on it (211k), but talking to the owner, it seems to be in decent order and it will need a little TLC, but no major issues.

I will most likely pick it up Friday or sometime next week, whenever I have a chance. I want to get it home, cleaned up and take some decent photos of it.

Mike,
Is it actually an Legacy Outback wagon? I'm currently looking at a '99 Legacy Outback wagon on eBay with 132k on it.

No issue with the 2.5l in the 99s and 00s regarding leaking HGs?

Head gaskets? wouldnt worry about a little thing like that, seeing as we have the motor from Dr. SUS we can always rebuild and drop in just kinda hanging around the shop...:D

Mike, looks like youll be picking up another new old legacy wagon only days before Reading...lol

That was an issue with the 2.5's in the 96 Legacy's, like mine :( but it was fixed in 97+.

Congrats Mike, very nice find.

Actually.. The head gasket issue we finally resolved by Subaru late 2003 with another revision of the gasket.

I had a 2000 and a early 2003 that the HG went on. The Phase 2 blocks leak externally vs the phase 1 internal leaks though.

The 2000+ has a stop leak additive that stops most head gasket leaks as long as it is added with every coolant change.
