My Classic Car - Autofest
 

Has anybody seen the episode of My Classic Car that covers Autofest? I haven't. I just missed it a few weeks ago. A quick glance on the Speed Channel's site tells me that it will be on at the following times:

Sunday, March 24, 2002 10:30AM
Wednesday, March 27, 2002 12:30PM
Saturday, March 30, 2002 4:30PM

Of course, I'm at work at all those times. I'll have to try to tape it.

Thanks for the info Nick. I haven't seen it either, but recently got SPEED on the Dish (YAY!!!!). I'll be recording it, fer sher.

By the by. I recently got a letter from the MCC Car Club. They're disbanding. (Duh. Like you ever got anything out of it but a t-shirt. Not even a MCC tv sked.) Autofest '02 is still on. But I won't get a break on entry fee this year, I guess.

Speakin' -o- witch. Who's up for a road trip to Evansville, Indiana this fall?

If AF 2002 is the same weekend as the USGP, I'll miss it. Sorry. As much fun as AF 2001 was, I really need to see a GP in person.

Autofest 2002. September 27th thru 29th.

Uh oh . . . during the wife's birthday . . . again. We'll probably be there. :D

Reading is going on during my Son's birthday.

We've got to begin to organize a meet around Feb 28 (my daughter's birthday).

That way, my entire family can be pi$$ed at me. :D

Plus, my car could then, break down TWICE as much.

USGP: September 29th

That was my dilema last year, as it will be again this year.
But for me its a no brainer......Indy here I come :D

Actually, I received my ticket confirmation last week. We have always had Stand H, Row LL (very top row), Seats 3 & 4. I asked for an "upgrade" to seats 1 & 2 because I knew that the couple wouldn't be going this year, but didn't get it :(

We are a group of six paranormal adults :rolleyes: plus three subnormal kids :cool:
We stay at the HI Express in Frankfort, IN (50 miles from Speedway) because it's cheap :D arriving Friday night.
Our routine is to go to qualifying on Saturday, a BBQ Sat evening at one of the mother in laws - I could probably get you a gate crash permit if I worked at it, and then of coarse the race on Sunday :D :D :D :D
Sunday night is usually pizza in Frankfort and then we head home on Monday. If you want to hook up let me know - Saturday Qualifying would be perfect.
Last year I took the SVX but managed to bum a ride to the track each day - the SVX does not like crowds :eek: :eek:

We plan on being at the speedway for Friday practice, Saturday practice / qualifying and the race on Sunday. When we get closer to the event, I'll give you my cell number so we can hook up.

I doubt very much that I'll bring the SVX. The friend I'm travelling with smokes, and that smell sticks to everything. So we'll either take the Justy or one of his.

Oh, and thanks for the suggestion on the hotel!

autofest this year. from the stories and pictures of last years event it looks like it will be a lot of fun. :)

Great. We'll try to work things out as last year to make sure we're staged together at the event.

You'll have a great time. I wish I could go to both the USGP and AutoFest...but I can't. :(
