Tranny prices

Weighing my options any help would be appreciated. How much does the average 4eat rebuild cost, not installation, best friend is a highly reputable mechanic and we'll be doing the removal/install ourselves.

What I am trying to figure out is the price difference between rebuilding and doing a 5mt conversion. He really wants to put a five speed in it, likes a challange.

If your guy wants a challange then but a level ten stage 2 or 3 rebuild kit in. It uses your exsiting tranny but with all new parts.

Here is the link.

I did a 4.11 impreza tranny swap and it cost about 1100.

As far as a mt5, small cars has a complete kit.

It is all up to what you want.

good luck

If your buddy really wants a challenge, a five speed can be done for two grand or less. You just have to scrounge for the parts and beg for the fabrication. :)

A friend of the family offered to rebuild my tranny for $1500 - that was, apparently, his cost for parts and without charging for labor.

A used SVX 4EAT should be under a grand.
