TCM question

My car started out as a 1994 FWD model, was converted to AWD , using Outback transmission ( and I assume differential , not ring gear swap ) . Previous owner can not supply me with any information . Would the transmission control module be from the Outback , or from an SVX ? This car upshifts at a very ( 3000 - 3500 rpm ) low engine speed . Thanks

Re: TCM question

Is that in normal casual driving? Seems about right. What about when you mash the peddle?
I would expect it to be an SVX TCM. When I did an Outback swap into my '92, I kept the SVX TCM.
A 2wd to 4wd swap may be a different story.

Re: TCM question

That would be floored . Only time engine has seen more than about 3500 rpm , is when I manually shift it . Unfortunately , the car sat for four years , prior to me purchasing it two years ago . Several synthetic oil changes , and 2500 plus miles put on it , it runs well , just doesn`t rev . That said , with the 4.44 gearing , it still moves out .

Re: TCM question

This sounds like you need to check the tps reading. Do a search theres a few good ways to check it.
