Something fishy here

I found this on ebay:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true

He says it's a 93, But as we all know, It isn't. But the VIN number indicates it as number 9041:eek: I know they didn't build over 9K SVXi in the first year.(it's obviously a 92) Can someone run a carfax on it and see what pops up?

NikFu S. 04-13-2006 01:19 PM

Fishy or not, the price is right.

The guy selling it has never even heard of the car.

I pray it goes to an enthusiest. Peel off them vynals (Or not) and replace that one side marker and you got yourself a really clean SVX (That doesnt go backwards)
good 5 speed / 4.44 canidate

Budfreak 04-13-2006 03:25 PM

Yeah, But with the wrong VIN, I just have to wonder. I don't want to buy a car that was pieced together or stolen or whatever. Anyone do a carfax on it yet? I'd love to get it, But not till I figure out whats up with it.

Earthworm 04-13-2006 04:39 PM

It actually looks really nice. The interior is very clean...especially for a 92. I don't see any rust.

Perhaps our KY members could check it out.

Even the wheels are on right!

PDSides 04-13-2006 04:50 PM

Maybe if you put more fluid in the transmission........! OK, the only thing I can see wrong in the pics is the gear selector lever is the wrong color. It has obviously been replaced. I wonder why?

I don't understand how that's possible?? I thought the last few digits were the number of the car in the production run. There were only 5K+ 92's sold, So what gives??????

SomethingElse 04-13-2006 05:44 PM

H/v 6

I wonder how he fit the V6 in there without any hood modifications:confused: maybe it has a modified lower carrige.

immortal_suby 04-13-2006 06:47 PM

Only 6k+ sold in the US

Budfreak 04-13-2006 09:13 PM

So how many of the 25K+ total were built in 92?

Speedklix 04-13-2006 09:51 PM

I wouldn't care. That car looks pretty nice (minus the "art")

The vin says it is an X35... isn't that a 92? others should be x33 right?
The record of how many we have are based on sales... which doesn't include canadian, or does it?
The dipstick is up. Needs tires.

I'd be more concerned about this one on ebay...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Subar...QQcmdZViewItem
which claims to be a 94 owned by someone who thinks being a "stunt man" carries some sort of validity... he has all tranny swaps beat by the way, check out his mod.

SSSVX 04-13-2006 09:56 PM

car looks good, do you still want it if it goes more than one thousand? :D It might! Other than a dent and the front driver side's parking light is broken, everything looks okay to me...from the pictures. It looks like the car has been in WV (or the previous owner) because I can tell from the picture the inspectation is from WV...:)

I think that is just the lighting in that shot. In the next photo (from the side) it looks right.

PDSides 04-15-2006 06:49 AM

Yes, you are correct. The lighting made the gear selector look beige in that one picture. How about that graphic art - there is no accounting for taste! Can't believe that folks actually pay money to have something like that put on their cars. I wonder how add-on tail fins would look?
