compatibility of seats

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if you can replace my manual front seats with seats from any other SVX, whether they are manual or electric seats?

I need replacement seats to replace a torn seat, and want to find out if I need to find other manual seats or would the electric work as replacements? (I realize they wouldn't actually magically BECOME electric in my car, just wonder if they will fit.)

does this make sense?
thanks,
Bailey

Yes.

Oh, and the best part....your car with the manual seats HAS the wiring for power seats. Its as simple as removing the old seats, finding the wire under the carpet, installing the new seats and plugging them in

If your spending decent $$$ for new seats, might want to consider just having the leather replaced by a leather specialist. Shouldn't cost you more than a couple hundred, you get to keep your seats, you don't get a used seat which is probably imperfect to begin with.

But it would be nice to put in electric instead of the manual seats. :) :)

His seats are manual, so their not leather.

Were electric passenger seats offered in North America?

No, but if they were offered in a left hand drive model as a driver seat they should fit. To wire it all you need is to supply two wires, a 12v+ and a ground.

I've been thinking about trying this for some time. I think it would be pretty cool.

I have thought about this as well, but the impracticality of the rear seat behind the driver makes me ponder the same for the passenger...

...plus shipping a 78 pound seat overseas would likely cost more than you would want it to....

a little something to think about, if you cross 92/93 with 94+ you run into a teency little problem with seatbelt placement, it still works, but it is just a little bit off, and slowly rubs away at the seatbelt, or at least that is my experience with it.

(put 92 power seats into my 95)

Has anybody noticed.........

I was in the Subaru used car lot the other day(by the way they have a 96 L for sale for 5995) red with gray cloth....clean car 129k miles. I noticed a late model Forrester (I think) having exactly the same leather seat (both color and pattern) as my 93 SVX. I wonder if anybody else has noticed this.

Hmm.,..pretty similar..Im quite sure the rails wouldnt line up, among other problems, but they would probly look good when they are done
