Color question
OK so the Green SVX I recently bought is FWD manufactured 03/94..never repainted. BUT, according to the SVX color chart the Emerald Pearl never came in FWD. So I thought maybe it could be a Polo green L (and the previous owners were wrong about the year) but the interior is beige and not cloth. I was just curious about this. Forgive me I'm still trying to get used to the L LSI and LSL stuff. :o
What are everyone elses thoughts on this? |
I would say, post the VIN, its the only sure way to know.

I went into your locker and could not find a picture of the Green SVX that you speak of. That would help as well. I doubt that it is a polo green. The VIN will give us all of the answers. :) :)

Looks like Laguna blue to these old eyes.

Looks more like Dark Teal than Laguna Blue. It could be Emerald Green, but it looks too dark for that. The beige interior makes it Emerald Green if it is a 94. It is not a Polo Green. That is for sure. :)
You can also lift the hood and get the paint code off of the tag there. It will give you a number that is the color. Check that number too. :) |
Here is the answer: You have the color normally referred to as "Emerald Pearl" Check your paint code under the hood, I'll bet it says 434. 1994 Emerald Pearl - Paint Code 434 1995 Emerald Pearl - Paint code 434. Sometime during 1995 production, the name of the color was was changed to Polo Green Pearl (still Paint Code 434 - but only the name was changed, the color remained the same) And sometime during late 1995 production, the actual color was changed (Paint Code 517) to match the new name. 1996 Polo Green Pearl - Paint Code 517 1997 Polo Green Pearl- Paint Code 517 The color names were decided by marketing people, not Subaru. Even though the color of the 1995 SVX's was still what Subaru called "Emerald Pearl," the color was renamed "Polo Green" because at that time, "Polo" seemed to be more appealing to the public than "Emerald". The name changed, but the color didn't. All 1994 and early 1995 SVX's were all the same color (434), no matter what the name of the color was, and in late 1995 through 1997 were Polo Green (517). So the 1995 SVX had the distinction of being the only car to have 2 different colors and 2 different names, but not at the same time. . . |
John - Look at the color of her car a couple of post back. That is darker than Polo Green. :)

^Straight out of svxcess' locker^ Do they look the same now? I know its a different paint code, but im pretty sure SVXyGirl's car is Polo/Emerald, it could be a '95 as that would make sence according to the color chart, but maybe the color chart is alittle incorrect in some info. Dustin |

Ok, I can hear you now. :) The lighting sure makes a big diffenence. That chart could be off or there may be a rare combination that occurs now and then. We will be able to sort this out as far as model and year with the VIN. :) |

According to the VIN the car is a 94 LS. Were SVXs special ordered? But why would someone order it without AWD? VIN: JF1CX3451RK102883 |
