94 SVX in our shop...weird options combo
 

A 94 SVX came into our shop today for an oil leak. It had the most unusual combination of options. It was an LS model w/ 2WD, but it had ABS, a sunroof, woodgrain panels, and an all seude interior. I knew that you could get ABS without having AWD, but I never realized you could get woodgrain panels or a sunroof without AWD. WEIRD!

My neighbor has a Bordeaux Pearl 95 that's optioned exactly the same way. This is how all 94-95 LS's are optioned. :)

That right. The LS was the luxury fwd SVX in '94-'95 while the L had the cloth, no sunroof or ABS, etc.

Another couple of interesting notes:

In 1994, both the L and LS were only available with FWD.

In 1995, The L had optional AWD, and the LS was still only available with FWD. :)

yeah, IIRC the AWD was part of the "active safety package" or something for the LS. ABS was part of that option package on the L, but came standard on the LS. I think. I was wrong once back in 82, so it could happen again.

The 94-95 LS was NEVER available with AWD.

A lot of people seem to think FWD = no ABS but it's not true.
I would know :D, I own a 94 LS like you described. (In bordeaux of course.)

I guess I'm just used to seeing 2WD models with no options.

I think I got that info off Joe Spitz's site. I've seen errata there before tho. I don't have OEM paperwork handy, so I can;t say for sure.
