SVX in Targa Tasmania 2006

I thought I would post this here since it would be of interest to SVX fans worldwide.

A white SVX is currently competing in the Targa Tasmania road rally (http://www.targa.org.au) in car 841

(profile is here: http://www.targa.org.au/Targa/Primar...%20Mathias.php)

I have not seen them in the Down Under section (has anyone had anyone contact from them) but the very best of luck!

You can keep track of the results on the Targa website

email address found

They are entered as "Carter Scott Manufacturing". A google search finds that is a division of Middleton Solar (http://www.middletonsolar.com).

If you go to the service and support page there is a photo of David Mathias, who appears to be the same guy as Anthony Mathias on the rally website.

His email address is at the bottom of the distributors page:

adm A.T middletonsolar D.O.T com

(presumably Anthony David Mathias)

So now we have the address, who wants to draft a good luck letter on behalf of the network?

they had athing on the news tonight about a mini cooper going off the track into crowd, nearly killed 3 people, no shots of an svx tho

and the reply is...

Hello Jacob,

My SVX survived the Targa Tasmania experience. The engine overheated badly on the longer Stages but we managed to finish intact and even earned a Targa Trophy. Gearbox gave no problems. The car was very safe and stable at the high speeds that Targa permits. I plan to modify the car a bit (standard at present) and enter it in Targa again next year.

I will take a look at the SVX World Network and consider joining.

And my response:
Hi David

Congratulations!!!, Thank you for replying, good to hear you made it through!!

The svx world network forums are free to join, there is lots of very useful modification information on the site aswel that there are automotive engineers, Subaru technicians, and many other with vast experience with the SVX that can offer you assistance

Hope to see you on there soon

All the best
Jacob Watkins

So there ya have it hopefull he will be a member soon:D :D :D

Gee I find it hard to believe it still was fitted with the standard front brake discs, surly it had DBAs on the front. Still they made to the end, didn't put it in the bushes, like the last one.

This site is good for compairing all the cars going through the same corner. Just keep clicking on the arrow to see each car.

Hope to see them join the forum, tell us what it was like.
