4.44 going in!
 

Well some of you may have read of my tranny issues in my welcome thread. I picked up a legacy trans and rear end and I am going to do the swap. I was wondering if anyone around Salt Lake has done one before. I have swapped a manual trans in a old MR2 before but that is the extent of my transmission swapping experience. Any tips people have found when doing their swaps? Thanks in advance, this place is great!

Just follow the detailed instructions offered by svxfiles in his signature and you should be good to go. We just finished ours.

I'm assuming you don't consider Boise close to SLC? :D

And yes, the directions are great. Chris Debban and I completed this about 6 weeks ago. WOW! What a difference. I do reccommend a possible re-seal of the transmission pan when completed. At least in my case the 97 transmission had a SOA recall done on it for the low temperature/park issue and the tech that completed this goobered so much sealer between the case and the pan, it leaks terribly now. I have to crawl under there in the near future to remedy this.
