What was your very first car?
1989 Honda Civic DX, a maroon piece of ****. Good for nothing but ramping railroad tracks and smoking weed in. That was 10 years ago

I bought a black 1982 Mazda RX-7 for my first car in high school (after totalling my parents Tempo). It cost me $1000, then another $1000 to get it road-worthy. It was awesome, but as with most of them, my engine lost compression after having it a year and a half, and was never to start again. I donated it to my high school mechanics shop when I moved out of town.
I had the rx-7, then a Lebaron (big pimpin'), then a Beretta (POS), then an Integra (1st gen, 89), now the SVX. Talk about a huge upgrade from my others! |
1966 Ford Galaxie 500 coupe, maroon with black interior, 390 V-8 with a C6 3-speed automatic, power steering, AM radio, sport wheel covers. Paid $300, drove it for a year and sold it for the same.
I learned to drive in my mother's '62 Chevy Impala, 283 V-8. Seems that thing had a 2-speed auto. dcb |
1986 Pontiac Fireturd...I mean bird. Bright red. Big bad 2.8L V6 with an auto tranny...what a combo. Actually it was a decent car and it looked real nice. The previous owner had put some real nice American racing rims on it. Drove it for 5,000 miles and got hit driving to work one day. The car was totaled but there were no injuries. The insurance company of the woman who hit me gave me twice what I paid:) After that it was an 85 XT, 95 SVX, 94 SVX, 98 Outback, and 92 SVX.

2002 Honda Accord SE.....giving it back to the dealership next week...lease is up :D

1986 Plymouth Horizon -
it could only get better from there..... |
1973 Pontiac Trans Am...455 Super duty Turbo 400 Trans....
It would break loose the back tires at 35 mph if I stomped on it :D If I dumped on it from a dead stop, it wouldn't move...just smoke the tires, and jump up to about 140 mph on the speedo.... What a great car for a beginning driver  .....heheh...it taught me well ;) ahhh....fond memories :D :D |
'68 Mustang 2+2. Forest Green. and rust, lots of rust. . .
|
My first car was a Raven Black 1969 Boss Mustang I bought used in 1971 using the money I had saved while I was in Vietnam. Unfortunately, I only had the car for about two years because I could not keep gas in it due to the Arab oil embargo of 1973. I sold the car in November of 1973 for a 1974 Celica GT with a 90 hp 2 liter engine . Talk about culture shock! How embarrasing. :o

I suppose my first car was a '91 Escort wagon. That was a dependable little car, man. My brother and I beat the snot out of it and the thing still lived to see 220k miles.
The first car I ever bought was my '87 Toyota pickup. Great truck. :) |
1987 hyundai excel gl -3 door. 8.8 miles when i drove it off the lot in 11/1986. :)

1984 Oldsmobile "eighty-eight" Wagon. http://www.stationwagon.com/gallery/...om_Cruiser.jpg awwww yeah....were talkin some pimp ish. top speed: about 95mph... that is, downhill with rocks in the back and with the ghetto overdrive on (ghetto overdrive= throw 'er in neutral at redline on a big freeway hill) :D best thing though: on my 16th birthday i had the appointment for my Drivers license examination set for 9:00 AM. i got my license, went back to school just in time for lunch, loaded up 10 females into the beast, and shmobbed off to lunch. I even lost my virginity in that couch on wheels. then i had an unfortunate incident with a ditch and fence..... :o :( total cost: $250 then it was an 83' honda prelude... rebuilt the whole engine myself for kicks.... some kick in the arse it turned out to be  http://pages.infinit.net/danman20/p9.jpg that thing was fun... was suprisingly good at jumpin and off roading famouse words in that car while shmobbin and bottoming out, : " dont worry about the scraping....Its just metal" :D total cost:dirt for the car, even less for the parts... being a crazy ass kid behind the wheel of some hoopty ass vehicles: Priceless. |
I had an '82 Saab hatchback something or other for 2 days before the transmission bit the big one. Then, '90 Legacy Sedan. Then, '96 Legacy GT Wagon. Now, '92 SVX. Future, J2X Allard (i wish). Any questions, Google it.
