noise coming from right axle?

 i just bought my 92 svx, and i've had it for about a week and now there it a noise coming from what i think is the right front axle every time i make a right hand turn. its not loud, its like a subtle click-click-click, but its annoying! any ideas? also when i drive at lower speeds (like thru my neighborhood) the front (i cant tell which side) makes a clanking noise like something might be loose, and this is when im driving straight not turning. rah. i love this car but im new to subaru's and have no idea what to look for, please help!!! thanxxx! ~Lizzy

Well :) welcome :) to SVX ownership :) The front right axle is must likely going bad. The click, click... etc is from the balls in the CV joints of the axle hitting worn spots. You can most likely drive it for awhile as long as you are very nice to the car. It may vibrate at highway speeds, so drive slow. It may be worse with a full load in the SVX. The axles should be replaced in pairs. Meaning both fronts get done at the same time. I also recommend checking the AWD to make sure it works. When the RWD is not working the front end is over loaded.

Probably not required but if you change one chances are the other one is probably not far behind.
