"If you can read this, roll me over"

I ordered the 10 point cage yesterday for the racer. It's coming from a "one man" shop in the hills of central PA that specializes in custom auto frames and cages. He spent about an 30 minutes in my SVX with his meauring jigs and also got the measurements he'll need if someone wants an 8, 6 or 4 point cage and still wants to keep their interior.

We should be picking up the pieces in a week or so, I'll keep this updated with pics and fitment. But everything we've heard about this guy is that It should be just right. :)

Dave,
Will it be an "all bolt-in" kit, or will welding be required?

That would be tight if you could still keep the interior and it was bolt in.

TomsSVX 01-20-2007 03:51 PM

it would be even more "tight" if they had an interior:p :D :D Very cool news Dave

What you want a ride so you can piss your pants going 100mph up the hills.

I'm getting giddy the closer we get to climbing. There's something real about not being able to laugh about your mistakes that is unless your spin doesn't involve a 30 foot embankment and 20 trees.:D

It would be a weld in cage. The options that they took though account for full interiors

Mr. Benebob said "giddy" He has been away from racing for too long:p

TomsSVX 01-21-2007 09:03 PM

so wait... they are gonna make bolt in cages for full interior svxi?? Pretty cool and if I keep it up I may need one soon

Tom

Ours is weld in. When I pick it up, I'll ask if he can do Bolt in...

benebob 01-22-2007 06:34 AM

You really don't want a bolt in cage for a unibody though Tom.

Depends on what you order. Here's their website: http://autoweldchassis.com/rbc.ivnu

They come with the recommendation of virtually every local hillclimber I've talked to.
