Emergency spare part request

Well, I was going to take a leave of absence and or a stress break. Unfortunately, events have happened that have increased my stress and for once in a rare moment, I need to request help from “you” the users/members here. SVX bad luck does not skip over administrators, as much as I would like to think.

Friday at the track, I was competing in a local import race. I use these to keep my skills honed for the real deal races. One such race is early this morning. I will NOT be attending. This really sucks because I am 3rd in the point’s standings and I am going to take a serious loss over this missed event. BUT, to add fuel to the fire next weekend is a national event. This is an event I need to attend in order to keep sponsors happy as well as increase m chances on gaining support from SOA. Friday, I did take a second place win, but it should have been a first. The reason I lost is due to an unknown problem that has come to plague my car.

The problem: My car is now occasionally skipping and missing. This is not a single cylinder type miss. This is a “feels like turning off the ignition for half a second” type miss. I thought it might be a plugged fuel filter, but that has not been the case. Next, the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator was removed and plugged in order to run full fuel rail pressure. That too was not the problem. So, I have narrowed it down to either a mildly faulty igniter unit or a bad fuel pump.

My request: I know there are many of you out there with spare parts and or spare parts cars. Chris Debban has driven my car and is scratching his head. He basically says this intermittent failure can only be fixed when what ever faulty part totally fails, or we get to a point that it throws a check engine light. Until then, his hands are tied. What I want to do now is play Frankenstein without having to buy unnecessary parts. I would like to borrow an igniter module from someone to test is my problem continues or goes away. If the part I need to borrow solves my problem, I would gladly buy it from the user, or return it after I order a new/used one and it shows up. (The igniter is an easy to get to and pull/replace black module on the firewall of the engine compartment. It has two securing screws and a plug on either side. Probably not more than a few minutes to pull. This module is basically the electronic ignition for the multiple coil packs on the SVX.)

If anyone can assist me on this endeavor, I would greatly appreciate it. I would also pay shipping. Speed is an issue since Saturday is the national event.

PM me for information and or questions/offers of assistance.

THANKS!
:D
