Fall Colors 2: The Quest for Peace

I love the cheesy sub titles they often attach to sequels. :D

Seriously though, I was thinking of doing another Snohomish County loop run like last year. Probably a pretty similar route, but it was a really good one and only a few of us made the entire drive so it would be new to most, fun again for the rest. ;) Now that I live up here I could probably fine tune it a bit too.

I don't want to step on any toes if anyone else is thinking of planning something for the fall season. I can either hype it up as the big fall event, or downplay it as just an informal gathering for the local crowd if there is going to be something else someone is going to be putting some time into. Just let me know in an email or something. :)

Go for it Troy. Could you place new little things to see along the way so it will seem new to the ones that went on this drive last year? I am sure that it will be well attended. :) Especially now that we are going to drive it backwards (Snoqualime, Bluett and Stevens) with a Bar B Q at your place! :D

WestCoastSVX 09-11-2003 10:00 AM

:D That's not a bad idea, but this time of year and beyond, I'd be more comfortable with that idea next year after we have the roof built over the deck, so we can BBQ rain or shine. ;)

The Fall Colors I was referring to isn't actually the one where we went over the passes, it was the one we did last October through Snohomish County backroads. It started in Snohomish and ended in Marysville. You and Dan joined us towards the end and that guy with the red 97 was just there for the beginning and end. It was the first appearance of Alycone at a meet and the end of Tim's tranny. Those two, Matt, and I, were the four that made the whole drive. Seasvx was scheduled to appear but never did. :p :D

Troy - when did you change to the new silver wheels from the wooden spoked ones you were first using? That was back in 04 wasn't it? :D

Now I remember which one that was. We saw fish jumping at the other park. :D

I might even try to start at the beginning this time. :D

WestCoastSVX 09-11-2003 09:54 PM

Yeah now you remember! Yep, you should try to make it to the beginning, that was the best part. Well, at least as far as driving and curvy roads. The park where the fish were jumping was the best stop though. :)

(the way you talked about fish jumping, people are going to think it is just another one of the crazy jokes and puns that goes on around here:D little do they know, you were actually serious! :D )

Troy

I am always serious! :D

tuzem 09-12-2003 01:48 AM

You guys are nutz but I'd still drive wherever and whenever :) As long as there is a bar involved somewhere on the way I'M IN! :)

WestCoastSVX 09-12-2003 05:56 PM

<creepy insane laughter> :D    :) :o :p

I think Earl is more nuts... I mean nutz... than me. But whoah, do you read some of these other posts in the main forums and see how whacked some of these people are? Still, I'm the most wanted man on my island, only we are not on my island, such a pity......

Seriously though, I will hook you up with a bar on this next drive for sure. It will be at the end, kinda like a reward for completion. And being at the end, we aren't responsible for any crazy antics that ensue. :D

Alright guys! Let's do this this trip! We even have a new member join! If we do it I'll have my dad make some of those cool kebops again :D C'mon! Who can say no to that?

nutz?

I'd prefer the "Quest for speed," or the "Quest for a road free from slow gravel-hauling trucks," instead of a quest for peace.

Thanks for the catering, Tuzem!

Great Nutz Alycone! Heheh! I think we should all get some :) For me that would be like a 2x2 hahaha :D Just like AWD except with balls :) ahahahah ! For female drivers it would be RWB (rear-wheel-balz) ;) How is that for some signiture club moto! "We got Balz!"

-Nick

p.s. no problem for the catering :) Earl's got the recipe now. Next trip I'll bring something else, but first I'll take it to Troyz and store it in the freezer :)

Alycone 09-19-2003 10:14 AM

Oh no, what have I started?

Yeah, I like the "Quest for a road free from slow gravel-hauling trucks"! :D I'm going to try to avoid that issue this year, although in all my test runs last time they never appeared. I do have some new surprises brewing though. ;)

BTW "Quest for Peace" is the cheesy subtitle of "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace". It was a movie that came out in the mid 1980's, but there are many many Hollywood sequels that attach extra titles on. That one is just the one my strange movie geek friends and I would always think of when joking around. Rest assured this tour will have a much cooler name in the official literature (oh yes, there will be full color handouts again suitable for framing or placing in your SVX scrapbooks).

Wow, this thread sure took off in an unexpected direction fast!

On a completely unrelated (hopefully!) note, any time you have some of that tasty Bulgarian food you want to share Nick, my freezer (or dinner table) is always open! :)

Retracing my first meet? How nostalgic.:)
