OFFICIAL Portland/ Vancouver Spring Drive June 9th SIGN UP!
 

The "exact details" have yet to be hammered out, BUT there is enough info to get a sign up started to make sure there is enough interest to keep up the effort of a very awesome Meet/Drive/ End of day BBQ at Mark's!

WHEN: Saturday June 9th, 2012
START TIME: 10am
START LOCATION: Vancouver, WA (I will update an exact address when decided upon)
END LOCATION: Mark's place in Vancouver, WA...BBQ for all!!

As far as the drive, we are tossing around a couple different ideas, but it all depends on the numbers we can generate for this drive.

:D This drive also will represent a HUGE THANK YOU to Troy for all the years of hard work he was put into NW SVX, so please come and enjoy a great time with cars, friends, and show some appriciation for Troy!! OR mock him, if that's your thing :tongue:

Also note, my former SVX is now owned by Mark and is being parted out due to an accident it suffered. For those looking for parts, the car will be at Mark's.

Okay, I'm signing up Troy because he is busy, and I've been talking to him outside the forum :p:p:p:D Besides, seeing how this drive is to honor Troy's years of hard work in the SVX community, more specificly OUR NW community, he doesn't have a choice :rolleyes:

Hi,
Hey, it looks like we are getting some interest, too cool. I promise no craziness this time. Eric and I are working out the details of the drive, but just a heads up. It won't be an epic or a high speed thing. More like a slow paced meander through the woods, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, lots of curvy roads, great scenery and just kicking back at our house at the end of the drive. There will be plenty of time to explore at the stops, with some hiking, about a mile or so at one stop.
Look forward to seeing everyone, it has been a long and wet winter for us all, with very little driving things, at least, for me.

Question for anyone with parts. Anyone happen to have a MAF and a AC idle pulley? Just thought I'd ask, no SVX's in any local pick n pulls :(.

Just saying "Hi" and yes Mark and I are still hammering out the starting address to start the meet. We will be posting it as soon as we figure out the exact location, but it will be somewhere north of Vancouver (maybe Kelso area?) We've run into issues of closed roads, lol...and hope to figure it out soon!

I'm getting excited for this, can you believe it has been since last October that any of us have gotten together? :eek: I remember the days we had a "big meet" (6 or more cars not including Earl's extras) like clockwork every 2 months year round! :cool: Of course times change and people come and go, and we are spread out a bit more now too.

I saw Mark the other day and he assures me this is going to be a good one, and not be too rough on those of us that have to drive several hours to get there. In other words, yes, there is a drive, but it isn't too long and has stops for extended periods of time for socializing and relaxing. Plus it is shorter and provides as much social time/car checking out as anyone wants at the end.

As a bonus incentive, I have some small tokens of appreciatation for the first 10 cars that register AND actually show up! :lol:

UPDATE: We did the "pre" drive yesterday, and this drive is gonna be sweet! The starting point will be in Kelso, and we will make sure to get the exacxt starting location posted as soon as Mark figures it out (he was gonna lock it down sometime yesterday I think). We are just a week and a day away!

For those with GPS, we will be providing a "stage by stage" addresses of locations we will be stopping at, so know one needs to worry about "falling behind." Stops will mostly be gauged by interest and time (there are alot of neat places to stop on this one). Actual driving is gonna be well under 100 miles from start to finish.

Remember, everyone is invited to Mark's for a Dinner/ BBQ!!! It will be a great time to visit and thank Troy before his big move.

Hi guys,
O.K. the official starting point for this drive is the Red Lion parking lot in Kelso, exit 39 off the 5. You can see it from the freeway, it is on the east side and south of the exit.
The drive will be around one hundred miles ending in Vancouver. So for everyone coming from north of there, it will only be about sixty more miles than driving to Vancouver. Of course, those from the south will have 140 miles; however, we're not driving for hours to get to the starting point, either.
Meeting time is at 1000, on Saturday June 9th. We'll hang out for a bit, hopefully get moving by 1030. There are several gas stations nearby, and fast food if you want to munch something before we start.
