Got a Code 31 Diagnostic

Which is supposed to indicate a shorted PBR (?) circuit. Any suggestions as to the easiest way to remove the instrument cluster so I can get the A/C-Heating control cluster out and start checking resistances/voltages?
Thanks in advance for everyone's help on this.

although i am of no help to your situation, how exactly did you do this self diagnostic? I checked the archives and came up with stuff concerning the tranny self diagnostic is this the same? The reason i am trying to do this is because my check engine light just came on.

go to this site

http://www.stars-gazer.com/~svx/

not sure which page it takes you to, but if necessary click on the DIY SVX, then it should be obvious which link to click on for dash instructions.

after the dash gauges are out removing the climate module is pretty easy, post back if it doesn't seem so to you - it's been a long time since I was in there.

Thanks!

Lee,
Thanks for the link to Lwin's site -- It confirmed my thoughts that you just have to pry the switches out to get to the screws behind them! I think all I'll have to do is remove the large plastic piece that goes around the instrument cluster in order to remove the climate control module (I hope!)

SVXMAN2001,
The diagnostic I did was on the A/C-Heating system -- do a search of the site and you'll get the listing of codes and what they mean. They read out where the inside/outside temperatures are shown on the dash. The diagnostics for check engine light read out are done differently - you have to access the port under the dash and count flashes in the instrument panel - again - do a search of the site and you'll get the "#of flashes = what's not working right".
