ok this is the second crank pulley that i have some how destroyed. this one was on for about 100 miles its off my 94 i had this happen before but this time it went through the timming belt cover. i oraderd a new one piece pully for motorsport wharehouse i hope it holds up. why does this happen has anyone else had this happen to them. ill try and post a pic to show you what i mean. both times the pully seperated its self from the dampining material. is something wrong with my svx or does this happen a lot i really run this car hard maybe thats what is wrong.

I have heard of this being a problem before, but not in 100 miles. Seems like an awful short lifespan. The one-piece should hold up fine.

I just put Dayles one piece stock size pulley on the wifes svx. So far it is fine.
Her pulley separated too but it only squealed alot - it did not move back far enough to destroy the belt cover. Even as it was separated and the car was running it only moved back and forth about 1/4 inch while I revved the engine. Maybe you have a belt alignment problem or are putting the belts on too tight? I'm taunting the svx gods with this but I have yet to have a problem on my svx with 210k on the stock pulley. |
