ah, but you asked for the purpose... Installing and tightening teh boot clamp on a 1994 Subaru SVX

(also removing said clamp, or for use as a nifty paperweight. not intended for internal use. if accidently ingested, call Poison Control Hotline. if you experience any nauseau, diarhea, or vomiting, discontinue use and see a doctor immediately.)

yep that's it. It is for reclamping the boot band. It's for the new style plastic boots. Too bad I didn't see this till just now :(

Umm...If axle boot clamperizer isnt it, Ill guess...I dont know. But holy hell you can get ALOT of leverage with that sucker. Looks like you use 2 1/2 inch ratchets on that thing too. OOH, mabey it uses tourque wrenches...

It's a new 14 page service manual supplement that includes parts diagrams for the 1994 SVX FWD axle, torque specs and instructions for changing the boots. I bought it a couple years back from someone who advertised it as a service manual suppliment, not mentioning the FWD axle part. At the time I had a '94 AWD.

Perhaps just send it to Wikedjuggalo, I have a 92' AWD and this supplement sounds pretty useless to me, especially as Im moving soon and trying to rid myself of all the car crap/parts/manuals I've accumulated over the years

I forgot to PM you Gene but I got the manual about a week or so ago. Thanks for it, I don't know if I'll be replacing any boot clamps anythime soon though.:p
