Bad reliability score for Subaru

"Costly repairs to the Impreza's engine and transmission units pushed the average bill to nearly £1040"

As far as I understood this is a survey regarding warranty situations but I did not exactly get the idea of which kind of warranty: accident repair or "normal repair" based?

Anyway around here Imprezas are one of the most totalled vehicles around.
Everybody wants to play with it and few know how to. :D

Therefore they are one of the most expensive ones when it comes to average repair costs.

I just state this because the low ranking for Subaru seems to be related to Imprezas alone otherwise they wouldn't point their fingers at it.

Hi guys, my Impreza 2002 has some problems with clutch and maybe synchrons in transmission. Luckily it is still in warranty :-)))

The engine and tranny will suffer from missed shifts not to mention the beating a new young car enthusiast put to an engine. :D

I think I would rather crash in an Impreza than anthing else of the same size. I think it is a very safe car and quite crash worthy.
