O/T - SAABaru
I think this might be interesting. Saab and Subaru are merging to create a Saabaru. Impreza based 9^2.
http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/ae...php?1&id=35282 Well, I always liked Saab, may be finally they will come up with something interesting, then there will be another car in my family (subaru based) nik |
I don't know. My family is comes from a Saab background. My dad's Saab ownership has included an 850 monte carlo, 96, 99, 900, etc. Personally I like Saabs and initially I was interested in the Impreza-based Saab, but not so much anymore. Saab really lost something when GM took all of its engineering away. The current Saabs run on the Omega platform I beleive and utilize the Ecotec engine, so basically they aren't even a Saab any more. That doesn't appeal to me.
I like that my cars have a little originallity and aren't thrown together out of another company's parts bin (per say). |
I heard this project was cancelled.
Yup...... No one could agree on the location of the ignition switch. Ron (waiting for the SViggan-X). |

Anyway, that sucks that GM took over SAAB, BTW, did GM take over Subaru yet? nik |

saabs have been notorious for the strange placement of their ignition switch.. the driver inserts the key in the lower section of the center console.. almost where you'd rest your arm in between the driver's and passenger's seats.. kinda silly, but apparently it works, and once you get used to it, it's rather nice -adam |
I already have a SAAB/Subaru hybrid, I think. My 93 Legacy Wagon came from the dealer with a key tag labelled:
"SABARUE" What do you expect from a Lincoln/Mercury dealer who got it on a trade in.:D Matt |
