Idle speed increases as engine warms up HELP

I did a search for this and became very frustrated. I know that I've see this talked about and answered but when I do a search for it entire threads that just mention idle, speed, fast, come up... I'm hoping that I can spend some time looking for the problem on Friday before I leave for Reading.

The car starts with a normal (about 500-650+rpm) idle. as soon as the temp comes up the the idle slides up to about 1500 + way too fast!!!!

I'm guessing a vacuum leak... and I do hear a whistle when the gas is pressed down.

Any leads? any guesses?

this is killing my mpg... in the city(5-12) ... Highway mpg is still about (26-30)...

ok... not all rushing in to answer this..

I just went back out and started the car... and Idle is normal... about 30 mins at rest. vaccum build up and then is released?......

I'm going to stop and get some tubing tomorrow so I can use it like a stethoscope to listen for air hissing and whistle...

I think the 16 billion things this could be is shying everyone off. I have an idle problem I've been dealing with for 3 months and still haven't figured it out. :(
