Parking in NYC

I m going to NYC for an expo and a seminar...this coming weekend.

Just wondering, if any of you guys - SVXers know that if there's any low cost parking in NYC or if any of you live near or like half an hour to chinatown or manhanttan by bus or train, and, I can park my SVX at your visitor parking or offstreet for a couple days, please let me know, that'll be great. :) ^^

I'm planning to live in those low-cost hotels/motels maybe in chinatown or flushing, so no parking places given.

Thanks in advance. :)

There is a 'park it and lock it garage just off the Lincoln Tunnel. It was $19 for 24 hours last summer. You come out of the tunnel and get into the northbound lane. You stay in that lane. It dead ends on 42nd street. You are facing the garage. It used to be NYC owned now I think Kinney Parking owns it. It is on 42nd street between 9th & 10th Avenues. Welcome to the old neighborhood (Hell's Kitchen).

Good Luck.

Here is a tip taken from a Lebanese Joke

A Lebanese walks into a bank in New York City and asks for the loan officer.
He says he's going to Europe on business for two weeks and needs to borrow $5,000.
The bank officer says the bank will need some kind of security for the loan,
so the Lebanese hands over the keys to a new Rolls Royce. The car is parked
on the street in front of the bank, he has the title and everything checks out.
The bank agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan. The bank's
president and its officers all enjoy a good laugh at the Lebanese for using
a $250,000 Rolls as collateral against a $5,000 loan. An employee of the
bank then proceeds to drive the Rolls into the bank's underground garage
And parks it there.

Two weeks later, the Lebanese returns, repays the $5,000 and the interest,
which comes to $15.41. The loan officer says, "Sir, we are very happy to
have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but
we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found
that you are a multimillionaire. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to
borrow $5,000?"

The Lebanese replies. "Where else in New York City can I park my car for two
weeks for only $15.41 and expect it to be there when I return??

:D :D :D :D :D

Thanks, Larry.

Danny, thanks for the joke. I read this identical joke years ago but this looks like a copycat version :p that version I read was - just replace the person with chinese and the car with ferrari - and the rest are totally the same. :D

Give me a call....i live 20 miles north of manhattan. You couldddd park in my driveway in the garage and take the train from white plains to grand central station. Free parking of course. Just let me know which day you are planning to come.

Thanks

Tom, that is very nice of you that allow me to leave my car in your drive way. :) Accroding to my plan, I will be arriving in NYC with my yellow svx in the early friday morning. I will stay there for about 3-4 days.

I have another friend in flushing, NY, that's only like 10miles from downtown. He said I could leave my car in front of his house. Due to my tight schedules, I have full schedules on Fri, Sat, Sun and I would have tried to arrange where to park my car and where to stay as nearest to downtown as possible...

So maybe next time I will drop by your place and meet up with you and let's go to the nightclub together.:D Or if anything I may call you( I found your cell from an old thread I think ;) ), I may call you to say HI when I am in NYC this weekend.

Thanks for your offer, you probably won't see an unique yellow sport coupe around ... I will mainly travel by bus or Subway. :p

Anything you can reply here or email me at ohkennylee@gmail.com I have mobile Internet explorer on my cellphone.

Oh ok man that sounds cool. You'll be better of leaving the car in queens anyway because its in the city. Have fun!
