Back on the beat - Phast's turbo SVX gets some love
1 Attachment(s)
Well after a year hiatus the SVX is back on the block with a list of projects to do. I am committed to get this SVX back in decent shape, if at least mechanically. Its a waste to have it act as it is. If any one has a lead on a decent right rear wheel hub with a good bearing I would be interested in purchasing it.
1) Rims - I got the rims I always wanted, Enkei Shoguns! Stock STi RE070 tires mounted. (see attached picture) 2) the authentic Garrett 360 thrust bearing 60-1 turbo/.84 A/R turbine is going in second week of june, fully stainless vband rig. Maf will be moved to the positive side. I am looking for a larger inter-cooler as well, but have not found one for the right price that will not require another few hours on a plasma cutter. 3) 5 psi Wastegate spring . 4) ordered new rotors and pads to go all around. I need New studs and lug nuts as well. any suggestions for the Shoguns? I remember them not fitting well with stock lug nuts and studs. 5)Need to order some swaybar bushings and probably a lot of other bushings(i can see the swaybar bushings hanging! Anyways, I have been working to read up, and want to get posting on a regular basis. Hopefully I have a lot of the maintenance taken care of so i can resume my quest for more power and decent times. |

Re: Back on the beat - Phast's turbo SVX gets some love
If I am wrong somebody correct me so I don't missinform Phil--I don't think you can change the lug studs on an SVX without pulling the hubs. If the threads are just dirty you can run a die over them and lube them before installing the nuts. If i remember correcly it's 12x1.25

If you need the die I have it, you pay shipping. It really saved me.

Thanks for the advice and offer. The threads are fine, I just was concerned with having more them two or three turns holding the lugs on the wheels. I suppose I will just have to focus on finding different lugs

I have the 304L V-Band adapters and band which I will be tigging onto the turbo on wednesday. I came across some nice narrow acorn lugs which should grab as many threads as possible on the stock studs.

On a side note I went wheelin' this weekend with my dad in his built CJ, and there was a lifted Loyale with 32's that was tearing it up pretty good! It is always good to see the suby roll over the hill with the big boys. |

That's great Phast!!! I can't wait to see how yours turn out. My turbo project is moving slowly but is moving. I am hoping by summer's end putting 300 whp to the ground. Good luck bro.:)

Shoguns are my White Whale.
I've wanted them for YEARS now, but can never seem to get my hands on a set. |
Re: Back on the beat - Phast's turbo SVX gets some love
Phil-
The shoguns that I had required very odd lug nuts. I had to order them from the store where I bought the wheels. Mike |

I am hoping that these will grab enough threads to be safe. The key sits internal to turn the lug on a star pattern. What do yall think?
