Original Color?
 

I was working on my red svx on saturday and made a curious discovery. I found a couple places in the engine bay where it looks like it was originally bordeaux and then repainted brilliant red. Here is the VIN... Was my car originally brilliant red or Bordeaux?

The VIN won't help you. Check the aluminum trim plate located on the side of the driver's side strut tower

The 1994 Barcelona Red should be color code 372
The 1995 Brilliant Red should be color code 559
All of the Bordeaux Pearl cars had a color code of 487.

If the color code is indeed Brilliant Red (559) then the car could have been in an accident and used parts from a Bordeaux Pearl were installed and repainted
