Yeah, and I even have a link. :p

Actually, it was a recent article, but I had heard about it awhile ago. I contacted AutoWeek about the article because of course i wanted to talk to the people involved. I tried to get names, but they told me that since the car was built, the team involved has since scattered throughout SOA. SOA, of course, won't even talk to me about it.

The performance of that Autoweek Justy does not impress me. I think it should be capable of more. I don't really understand why they destroked it down to 1 litre - surely that's shooting themselves in the foot?

We could make the speedo needle of our Justy hit the end stop (110mph). Even allowing for speedo inaccuracy, that's 100mph.

That 3 cylinder is a cracking little engine and the Justy is a superb autotest machine. Our Justy is no longer roadworthy, but we are keeping it in the hope of one day restoring it.

Probably so they could get more RPMs out of it. Shorter stroke= more revs.

Bonneville LSR runs are based on classes. Classes are based on engine displacement. The article states the Justy ran in I-stock and since they "shrunk" the engine to 997cc (0.997L) I'm willing to bet that I-stock has a limit of 1000cc (1.0L).

That's what I'm hoping! I'll be ordering my tires in the next couple weeks. :D

I always used to pump the back tyres up to about 45psi to help the back end slide :D :D :D

I had all the tires at about 45psi. But, yeah, towards the end of my first weekend I definitely found out how to get the back end to slide around the slaloms. Woohoo!

This year I'll most likely just have some nicer street tires, but 5-6cm wider than the 145s I have now. Maybe next year I'll get some race rubber so I can plant my right foot through those slaloms. :)

The test was a "Standing Mile" test. It's the trap speed of the car after 1 mile starting from a dead stop. I thought it was very impressive since the highest speed I could get from my Justy over any distance was 99mph.
