Holy Close Call, Batman!!!
You know, I usually don't like my wife driving my SVX. She's not the greatest driver, plus it takes me a week just to clean her crap out of it. And no matter what, she just can't seem to understand "No food or drink in the car".
But, I think that's all going to change today... She just called me to tell me that she took the SVX today, even though I had asked her not to, and came home to a friggin' tree in my parking spot! Holy carp! Not only that, but she was pulling in the driveway as it happened! If she's have gotten there just seconds sooner, it could have fallen on her and my daughter. :( I don't know who was watching out for those I love today, but thanks, I owe you big. :) Damn, I really need to go have a smoke now.... |
wow. pretty lucky indeed!

Not to mention she saved the SVX. I she had taken something else. The tree would be on the car.
|
And she was late because she was picking up food? :p

When I got home tonite, the reality of the situation set in. When she called me, she must have been in shock, because she kept calling it a limb, then a tree. So I figured it was one of the smaller ones. I was wrong. It was one of the biggest trees on our lot. Any car that had been in it's path (or any occupants in the car) would have been annihilated. She also wasn't very specific about her distance from it when it fell. There are very light skidmarks within 10ft of where it fell. If she had arrived any more than a second or two earlier, I'd be making arrangments for her and my little girl tonite. :( And if she hadn't taken my car today, I'd be looking for a WRX right now. I kid you not when I say that I almost fainted when I saw the tree. I've got pics, I'll upload and post them tomorrow morning. |
Jeff,
Someone is telling you something - I hope you AND your wife are listening :). Harry |

Glad everyone (wife, daughter, SVX) came out ok. You'll wake up tomorrow with a sense of how great they both are.
Did you ever see Fight Club? In it, Travis drags a store clerk out into a parking lot and sticks a gun to his head. He gets ready to pull the trigger and asks the clerk what he wanted to do with his life. He lets the guy go and takes his license and tells him that if he's not on his way to filling his dream, he'll kill him next time. His explanation is that the next day will be the best day of the clerk's life. This is something like that... |

holy carp!
