My latest toy.....
I'm enjoying my latest acquisition, and I hope you don't mind my sharing with you.
Blackbird It is a Honda Blackbird. Not new, just new to me.;) It's a good bit quicker than the SVX, even way faster than the supercharged SVX. It will do the standing quarter in 10.3 with terminal velocity at 136mph. So I suppose 0-100 is around 7 seconds. Top speed is around 180 mph, but I have not tried it out yet, I'm too nervous. All I know is it gets pretty breezy at much over 150.:woo: I've recently come back from a tour of England Scotland and Wales, and it performed faultlessly. I know we tend to diss the Honda Civic and Integra ricers, and maybe they deserve it, but Honda make very fast and very reliable machinery. I'm enjoying it and working on improving my riding and my roadcraft. Joe:) |
I will try and insert a photo. My internet has been down so long, I was unaware the lockers can be used.
http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/fil...list/44878.JPG I don't have a pet name for it yet. The colour is Candy Purple, so maybe I'll call it Plum Dangerous! Joe |
Looks nice, Joe! Be careful on that thing..
|
Yes, be careful. I do like the name Plum Dangerous. :D :D :D
|
Eh, that stuff is to fast for me. Not that I couldnt ride it, but I would most likely fly off into space at 150mph. Mainly because I like to go fast:p
I ride a 01 HD FXDX. Much slower and heavier...and it keeps me firmly planted to earth:rolleyes: I would rather sit and watch the pro's do it on Speed TV. MotoGP, SBK, AMA, etc. |
Congrats on the purchase Joe, but be careful!!
On the other hand, I am starting to like the KTM's more and more... they are doing excellent job on the street bikes nowadays... I might get one myself over here ;) http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/Gal...%20RR%2006.jpg |

Thanks Zep:D I'm naturally a very cautious person, so I will be careful. Joe:) |

Thanks Earl Now that I read you saying the name, I like it, I think it'll stick. Joe:rolleyes: |

But while my creaky old legs still go over the sports bike, I'll enjoy [carefully] while I can. Joe;) |

Thanks Danny I will be careful! I can't do trailies, my short legs don't reach the ground. However, in your neck of the woods, something like an Africa Twin or a KTM would work well. How are you getting on with the Z? Arthur in Southampton recently changed to a cabrio, though he still has the SVX. I gather he likes it, though I have not seen it. He was not at the JAE. Cheers man Joe:) |
This new one has me pretty excited. Not sure if I could ride it or not tho, I also am verticaly challenged:p

The new Buell 1125R would be more in my line. I think it has the first engine they have used that is not HD.
Buell takes a product that is rooted in heritage and of an older generation and they turn it into something that can scare you, and can go around roundabouts and get around bends. Respect due. Deep respect. :bash: |
Mid-life crisis Joe?
Just kidding. Nice bike. Phil. |
Quote:
Yes it is. This is my fourth crisis this year by my reckoning:rolleyes: :D Life is so tough!:angst: I'm hangin' in there. |

The Z is great, I was the last two weeks in Lebanon for vacation, I drove the SVX over there... I should admit that our baby is FAAAAAAR better than the Z in a lot of ways... I wish I can buy a cabrio over here... the weather and sandy winds are killing especially with all the humidity going on right now... On the other hand, we got a nice 2000 BMW 323Ci cabrio for my sister back home... gorgeous car... Champagne color over Camel leather... LUV it  ;) |
