subis that kill fire hydrants
 

Since I get to hang out at the house in the AM hours, ( like someone with 'no visible means of support'), I was spending Quality time with the woodburner, and listening to the scanner that my job has my voice on all nite!
As the local police were talking about a Subaru that I know,,, It got my undevided attention!

I called the 'operator' of said Subaru, and asked him if he knew where his car was?
He said " Yea, it's right outside", And I asked him ,"are you SURE?"
Well, he went to the front door and said " WTF!!! It's GONE!!"
I told him that the cops knew where it is, and if he didn't SEE it, he should call them and ask where it is!

Well, He had forgotten to set the E-brake, and it was parked about a block away, on a fire hydrant!!
'I've been here before'!!!
When it all shook out, the car had suffered 'minimal damage' and the fire hydrant was bent, but not broken, so they gave him his car back, and told him to MAKE SURE the E-brake was used forever-more!!

The moral of the story is that there are (2) firehydrants in this town that are bent, that were bent by Subarus, and both cars were driven from the scene with 'MINIMAL DAMAGE',
Tough little customers!!!

Thats a sizeable crime here... fire hydrants are no joke here in the DC area.
