143?

is there anyway to bypass the 143 speed on the SVX i to a small race track in vermont. i 4get the name it was just me and my friend. but i couldn't get the car to go past 143 at all. took turns great and held to the ground nicely, but with the 143 lock i couldn't keep up with his WRX.

What year is you SVX?

I think that only the 92's did not have a speed limit on them.
other than that try a stage one or the soon stage three kits from ECUtune Inc.

Anybody ever tried just cutting the speed sensor wire into the ECU. (Red and Yellow wire on the 12 pin connector)? If you cut it about 2 inches from the plug, you can always solder it back together again if it doesn't work.

I don't think the ECU actually needs the speed signal for anything other than the speed limiter. I guess Longassname would know for sure.

Alternatively, you could do what I did: My (JDM) ECU has a 110mph limiter. I have put a frequency divider chip into the circuit so that the ECU still sees the pulses from the speed sensor, but at a lower rate. Therefore it thinks you are going slower.

Assuming that the US speed limiter works in the same way as the JDM one, you can do the same. The chip costs about US$100, but I don't know if it will work with a US ECU. If it does, then your 143mph limit will be raised to 228mph, which you will never reach.
