more svx brake questions:
landshark sez that svx brakes are easy to work on. i told him i haven't done my own wrenching in... well, never mind how many years.
my question: who in the nw forum area has replaced rotors on their car, and done the work themselves? |
Hi. Jim. I've done it. Steps are: 1) Remove wheels, 2) loosen calipers and swing calipers out of the way, 3) pull rotors off. It might be necessary to use the screwhole in the rotors to apply force to break the rotors free from the hub. That's it.

sounds easy, but then many things do to me when I'm in the comfort of my office, not out in the garage.
1) what if anything is anybody using for a workshop manual? The Chilton 64302 I have seems inadequate. 2) what if anything needs to be serviced on thecalipers at the same time? 3) does one just pull off the rotors, replace with the new ones, swing the calipers back inot place, install the pads and go for a drive?? (sounds too easy) |
