O2 problems

Ok, so i am getting crappy a$$ MPGs and at this point i can bloame it on my O2s. Being a poor ass college kid i dont have the 200 to buy a new pair. does anyone know of any method of secussfully cleaning an O2. i dont think mine are bad enough to need replacing, just cleaning.

$45.90 each: http://www.automedicsupply.com/cross...lker=250-23000

Some people have removed them and torched them in an attempt to clean them. I believe Doug (mohrds) has explained this method.

So you got the dreaded check engine light and the code is indicating one or more oxygen (lamda) sensors are reporting problems?

No?

Well, did you inspect the entrails of a dead chicken then?
Consult a ouija board?
Just guess?

You report that you are getting "crappy a$$ MPGs" - but just how many mpg is defined as crappy a$$ on your measurement scale?

You have measured your mpg, haven't you:eek: ?

If you haven't, then do so. Brim the tank, reset the trip meter, drive it a hundred miles or more, then brim the tank again. Then do the maths. Perhaps your mpg isn't quite as bad as you think it is.;)
