That appears to be from one of the lower end models. Notice the matte black dash instead of the woodgrain as well as the plastic instead of the ecsaine on the glove box areas.

At a guess I would say thats the car that was knocking around a couple of the export auctions in Japan late last year, it had rear roof & tail gate damage as though a tree or post had fallen on it.

I guess no one was interested in a repair and its worth more to the vanagon boys in parts.
