Interesting Repaint on Ebay
 

I found this 1996 LSi on ebay. I always wondered what this color combination (silver with beige interior, as on the later Mazda Miata) would look like on an SVX.

Looks nice with the aluminum dash, but the gray door sills are very distracting, as is the painted grille.

Also under the hood the car seems to have been painted a copper color. I wonder how many times this one has been repainted and what the original color was to begin with.

He buys it, replaces the tranny, radiator, PS pump, has the car completely repainted and sells it a year and a half later? hmmmmmm :confused:

It also has black door sills instead of beige. :confused: I don't like the color (orange) under the hood. :eek: The color looks good though - solid silver instead of black upper like the 92s. :)

I put that car up in the "Buyer Beware" thread. To quote Budfreak (because I have no idea how to quote inter-thread):

"A crazy ass SVX from vineland, N.J. with Pa. plates. It has Vlad written all over it."

It also appears to have dark grey carpeting in the trunk. Wouldnt a car with beige interior match in the trunk also?

Every SVX interior, both gray and beige, had gray carpeting in the trunk.The molded trunk pieces and the carpet on the beige seat backs were gray as well. Same with the panel on the underside of the trunk lid.

There was never beige or tan carpeting in the trunk of an SVX.

idk if it was an inside joke about the carfax thing, but carfax is not a reliable source for sure, i have not tested their buy back, but i know for a fact a few cars that were in accidents that were never reported, it is up to the insurance company to report accidents to car fax, my friend bought a 2005 sti and the carfax was sparkly clean, later he went to subaru of carlsbad "the car was bought and maintained there", and they had records of the car being in two accidents, they did all the work, each crash was about 10k worth of work, he decided to just keep it because he got it with 6 thousand miles on it and it was only 26500 through the toyota dealers auction but i know the accidents were not on car fax

It must have been only few people who had copper SVX...right?
Does anybody here know's who's SVX this was???

BTW, that bright silver is nice. Reminds me of JDM SVX S3 or S4. So that's the color combination if I make mine silver... coz mine has beige inside!
