Be Careful Boys n' Girls

A couple of weeks ago, a photo of a serious single vehicle rollover accident was in our local (Edmonton) newspaper. Didn't think much of it until I noticed those familiar wheels. Turned the photo upside down and sure enough, there is (was) an SVX. The accident occurred in Calgary, Alberta. Driver killed, passenger(s) injured. Any of the Calgary guys know more about this?

Anyway, just a little reminder to be careful out there. There is a time and place to open 'em up, but ya gotta think about the when's and where's.

Poor SVX driver, poor car. :(

I wonder if the accident had anything to do with our great, yellow-hazed, crappy ass headlights. Did it happen at night?

The headlights are an easy fix & one of the first thing i did when i got my SVX. To start if you're lenses are dirty you can find how to take them off & clean them in the how to section, but after that REPLACE THE BULBS

I used Sylvania cool blue 9006XS CB (low beams) $30 for 2
A1C Super White 9005 (HB-3) ( high Beams) $25 for 2
SylVania SilverStar H3 ST ( fog lights ) $40 for 2

* NOTE * The high beams i used are not street legal (supposed to be off road use only ) but they rock just dont blind a cop
Bulb replacement is fairly simple & you can do it urself but make sure the car is dead cold be4 you tackle the fog lights or you gonna get burned ( there kinda tucked behind the radiator )

Love my night Driving Gargoyle....

re: i'm thinking about upgrading

i've been thinking about upgrading the lights. maybe brighter bulbs? have to do so without melting the wiring.

They're an easy fix and I've cleaned mine, but I'm sure a lot of people don't bother, without realizing the danger. Just something to think about. I guess my point was is that they shouldn't get like that in the first place.

wait a sec, wasnt this a post about an svxer and his svx dying?

I usually do my Novus treatment very often. I notice that if I let it go for a while, I don't get "flashed" nearly as often when I'm running my fogs. Once I've cleaned the lenses with Novus -- BAM, one out of every three cars flash me. So, the short answer is, "you don't have to live with yellow hazed, crappy ass, headlights. :D

I'll have to give the novus a try. Mine still aren't satisfactory.

Mine have never gotten yellowed or hazed... I don't get it - there are all sorts of common SVX problems mine has never had. But I *do* get the weird ones. :D
