My printer is being a pain
 

Ok so heres the story...

I dont have any of the CD's my computer came with. We had a 5 foot flood in our basement last december that pretty much wiped everything out. Everything got thrown in the garbage. So I reinstalled windows on my comp about 2 months ago because everything was going screwy. I used my friends windows xp CD. I didnt need my printer untill now....and i downloaded the drivers from the Lexmark site. Its a lexmark z705 printer connected by USB. Ive connected it and disconnected it like a million times and can't install the printer because the comp keeps telling me there is no printer found. Any suggestions on where I should go from here?

Do any other USB devices work?

Does the printer work in another computer?

In device manager is there an "unknown device"?

go to your computer, click on the start menu, click on help and support, click on invite a friend to connect to your computer with remote assistance. Choose email and put this in "lwin@stars-gazer.com" send it out and then call me. On the second thought, do that tomorrow. I am going to be busy tonight. :(

Oh and make sure that RDC port is not blocked on your firewall.

Lwin thats a cool idea...we can try that tomorrow just let me know when.

I dont have anything else to connect using a USB so i know it works....

Don't have another computer to test it on

And i will check the 3rd right now :)
