Overheating?

So a few weeks ago it was just about 100 degrees F near Philadelphia. Towards the end of my 100 mile trip to work I was in some slow traffic and the temp gauge on my car started rig and the a/c turned off. I plugged in my obdii-bluetooth and the torque app on my phone it showed the coolant temp about 234F. With the a/c off the temp came down. The gauge never passed about 3/4. For the next ten minutes the temp would fluctuate up and down and the a/c would go on and off. Once I got moving again temp dropped to below 210 and all seemed good. On the way home all was well until a long incline and temp gauge drifted up a little and a/c cut again.
The next day coolant level was good but I discovered the harmonic balancer had separated and the outer portion drifted back partially shredding the a/c belt and chewing through the timing belt cover. Replaced the harmonic balancer with one off an outback and a put new a/c and power steering belts on.
Since then The temp gauge has lived in its usual dead center spot and outside temperatures have been significantly cooler. I have probably made the 200 mile round trip commute about 5 times I have been driving a bit with the obdii-bluetooth and torque app running and have been regularly seeing the temps reach mid 220s uphill or on the highway. The temp seems to hover around 195 at idle and 205 on local roads.
If I didn't have the gauge in the app I would be oblivious to these temps. Should I be worried?

Re: Overheating?

If it was just that time, I'd blame it on the situation. Keep an eye on it, "torque" makes it convenient to monitor the temp.
